A night in Korea #3 – Daegu at night, originally uploaded by Ghetu Daniel.

“Colorful” Daegu, or “Fashion City” as the locals like to style it, is the third largest city in South Korea. Around 2.5 million people live in the city with 5 million in the metro area. Its thriving textile industry has led to growth in its fashion sector and it’s trying to establish itself as the fashion capital of the nation. Its also extremely conservative, being the base for President Lee Myung-bak’s Grand National Party. How fashion and culture exist side by side with conservatism, I don’t know. Korea, land of mysteries. Daegu is also the home of a number of US military personnel.
